Green house gas

Green House Gas affects economy!

Have you ever wondered how greenhouse affect a country's’ economy? If so read more!

As you know, the main news in local newspapers or on the television, greenhouse gases causes global warming which can lead to horrifying consequences. From higher sea levels, confusing temperatures in water and land dehydration, but did you know that global warming drastically affects economy which may cause poverty and hunger for already struggling countries and this is how.

Global warming melts the ice caps of the Arctic leaking cold and frosty waters onto the equator or the tropic regions damaging the biological sea life found in the ocean due to the immense temperature change. Killing fishes which disrupt the food chain that can lead to dire outcomes. No fish to sell and export, thus ruining sea life dependent countries’ economy.

Higher sea levels mean lesser land, sinking isolated islands in the process. Lessening the land space drastically may affect tourism that can devastate countries that require tourism for their nation to grow.

The hotter temperature, the more delay the crops growing due to the dehydration of the land. Preventing them from selling their native fruit to more wealthy countries, this will ravage exportation dependent countries’ wealth.

Now you know the effects of global warming, from slowing down progress for some struggling countries to ruining their economy. Greenhouse gas is a grim process which leads people to poverty.

Green house effect

Greenhouse effect!

WALT:  Plan my ideas for writing with detail and return to this as a guide to support me as I write.

Have you ever felt like the environment around you was getting warmer?
Well, that would be the because of the Greenhouse effect. This effect takes place when heat is trapped in the atmosphere of the earth, like a greenhouse, this is also called global warming.

The greenhouse effect can affect island nations like Tonga, Fiji and Papua New Guinea which export products to make money because the heat can damage the crops by the water drying up, even though some fruit and plants can grow in the heat like bananas, they still need water. It can also cause small islands like Maldives, Kiribati, Seychelles and Torres Strait islands, to sink below the surface of the water and cities with ports like Auckland, parts of it would be likely to be flooded.

Greenhouse effect can also cause the temperature of the ocean to change which can cause some aquatic life to die due to not being able to adapt to the Ocean's new temperatures, then the predators of a certain fish would die because of starvation due to their prey being extinct, then the predator's predator will die as well and it goes on from there. Even if it is small like plankton, it will cause the predator to die of starvation.

Another aspect of damage greenhouse effect is causing is that it is melting Antarctica and the ice polar caps, which is responsible for the level of the sea rising. If all ice on Antarctica, Greenland, and glaciers around the world were to melt caused by this effect, the sea would rise 70 meters and cities that are on the coast would be covered in water, but in cities such as Denver would survive. If we were to keep adding carbon to the atmosphere, 5,000 years later the planet would have been ice-free and the temperature would be 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of current 58.

In conclusion, try and use greener ways of traveling like walking and riding your bike instead of your car because it releases gases fumes in the air which adds to the amount of carbon in the atmosphere.

We are learning about the assumption of Mary
This is not my article, this article belongs to Loyolapress original link above.
Article:
One glance at a daily newspaper or a television news show will tell you that some people do not value human life. But this is not news. During the Holocaust of World War II, millions of people were tortured and killed. This terrible tragedy led many people to wonder about human life. How valuable is a single human life? How valuable are the lives of the elderly, the unborn, the terminally ill? Are their lives worth as much as those of people who are healthy and active, working, and raising families?

God creates human life and gives it value. And Jesus gave his life on the cross to redeem each individual human person. By doing this, Jesus said, “Your life is worth my dying to save you.” Through his own Resurrection, Jesus showed us the glory of our resurrection and of our living in the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised that the body and soul of a person, separated at death, will be joined together again in glory at the Last Judgment. The person will be whole for all eternity.

The feast of Mary’s Assumption is a preview of what our lives will be. At the end of her earthly life, Mary was assumed, or taken up, into heaven body and soul. She did not have to wait for the end of the world, as we do. God granted her this special privilege because of her sinlessness and her fullness of grace.

The Church has always believed in Mary’s assumption into heaven. But on November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII focused the attention of the whole world on the Assumption of Mary as a dogma and mystery of our faith. This mystery shows us that God wants every human person, body and soul, to be in glory forever, just as Mary is now. This dogma shows how important every single human life is. Pope Plus XII hoped that by thinking about Mary’s Assumption, people all over the world would develop a deeper respect for their own lives and their own bodies. He also hoped that people would grow in respect for the lives of others.

Assumption of Mary prayer
Father in heaven,
All creation rightly gives you praise,
for all life and all holiness come from you.
In the plan of wisdom,
she who bores the Christ in her womb,
he who is raised in body and soul in glory to be with him in heaven.
May we follow her example in reflecting your holiness
and join your hymn of endless love and praise.

We ask this through Christ our lord.
Amen

Importance:
Assumption is very important because Mary the mother of Jesus is taken up to heaven to be with her son. Jesus is God and Mary's only son. And because Mary is taken up to heaven, it is a very important feast day for the mission sisters.

Also Mary is the patron saint of New Zealand.

Synthesis:

The lives of the rural people in Papua New Guinea are very different to our lives today, they are barely surviving and they are struggling without the use of electricity. We live in neighbourhoods and aren’t isolated from others but they are however living under harsh conditions away from civilisation. They live rural lives with no internet and a lack of clothes. Modern houses and advanced technology has guided us to live a normal and ordinary life and afford food. Although we don’t share many similarities, we both do have food to eat and a roof over our heads. We both work to survive and we both can at least afford clothes to wear.

This task involved comparing and contrasting similarities and difference.
Synthesis:
The Papua New Guinea houses are weak compared to the houses in New Zealand because there is not much support added.
The houses and buildings in New Zealand are made of bricks wood etc but buildings in Papua New Guinea are only made out of sago palms, timber and bamboo which can't really hold the house if any natural disasters occur.
Both countries also have an easy source of water in their houses but through different resources.
In Papua New Guinea their easiest water source is the body of water (e.g a river) but in New Zealand it's from the modern tap.

Combining vinegar and baking soda is something to remember!

Do you know what happens when you mix vinegar and baking soda?

Plan:
  • Acetic acid
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Baking soda
  • Liquid
  • Splash
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Fizzing

Materials:
  • A cup
  • Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
  • Tissues

Procedure:
  1. Collect the cup.
  2. Add vinegar.
  3. Place tissues below the cup.
  4. Add the Baking soda.
  5. See what happens!

The chemical reaction of combining vinegar and baking soda occurs very quickly

The vinegar is an acetic acid and reacts near baking soda, both of them are known to have energy inside them. The baking soda is filled with carbon dioxide also hydrogen peroxide. While adding them both it breaks through the liquid and carbon dioxide. The hydrogen peroxide is causing of the fizzing of bubbles it brings oxygen and causing a bubbles fizzing and a volcano splash.

School Holidays
On a very rainy day, I went to Tita Terry's to stay there until 6:00. When I woke up I got dressed as fast as I could, because I was so excited to bring my Mac Book. When I got there, it was so rainy it felt like the rain was going in my body like tiny little ants tickling me. I walked up to the door and knocked, I took of my shoes and went in. I could feel the warm feeling inside the house, The warm feeling inside attacked the coldness in my body and finally I felt so warm. I took my Mac Book and I Pad and sat next to my friends, played some games and watched videos. After that I ate my morning tea, and while eating I was watching videos, I microwaved my food because it was cold. I waited for 1 minute, it felt like an hour. Then I ate my food and watched the videos I wanted. Following that we decided to play basketball at Panmure Bridge School. I went outside, put on my shoes and headed for the school. went to

Every time I see the ground so wet, I always think that it would rain again. I ran to Panmure Bridge as fast I could. Every time I ran I could feel the wind pushing me back. It was like it didn't want me to run. Finally we were there and suddenly everything became so peaceful which was great because everything was so quiet. We went in the court and play 2 on 2. My team was named Kobi and our opponents were Kyle and Karlo (also one of my good friends). It was so tough because Richard (an adult) was so tall and trying not to let him get the ball was a real challenge. My tactic was to pass it every time so that he couldn't get it.

But suddenly I got pushed and got a bruise on my knee. I couldn't play until someone wins. My bruise got so sore but I asked my friends, "Can I still play?" then they said if you are alright. So I kept on playing, every time I drove in, the bruise kept on getting worse, it felt like a dangerous insect had bitten me. Eventually we won the game.

I came back to the house to rest, after awhile I fell asleep, after around 20 minutes my friends started to wake me up like there were a situation going on or something, but they asked me to play the Xbox 360. And it was so much fun!!! And we were going to take it old school The Game was called Ben 10 Racing and it was made around the 2001 or 2004. in the game I kept losing to the bombs in the game but that didn't stop me from getting a win. So I got boosters every time from the power ups in the middle of the roads. eventually I won and got 1st place on it, I was very surprised that I had my first win in the game I haven't played. And I had lots of fun staying there!

That was one of the best holidays I wouldn't forget!

Proud of my Cousin

My cousin made the Auckland rugby team!

It was a cold windy day, just fine for the rugby trial game. All the best players from each and every under 14 rugby union teams in auckland had to go to varsity rugby club for the auckland trials.

The Auckland trials is a rugby game where the best under 14's players from every team in Auckland came together and made a rugby game to see who would be picked to make a team to represent Auckland.

My cousin Patelesio was nominated to try out for the trials because he was a very good player. He was set into a position, right winger. The right winger is all about pace, the right winger and the left winger are the fastest in the team.

It was kick off time(the starting of the match) The ball went flying up in the air, a tall big boy caught it but immediately he was tackled so hard that he was sent off straight away. A couple of tackles went by then finally my cousin gets a hold of the ball he sprints down the sideline and cuts back in when the half back in the other team dives in for a tackle, my cousin then sprints and dives for an incredible try. After that amazing try the whole of the other team was just aiming for my cousin.

It was a hard game for my cousin because he was being targeted but it all payed of when it was time to choose the team that was going to represent Auckland. The first pick of the team was my cousin. It was a great game, I was proud, my mum was proud, my aunty was proud, pretty much everyone was proud.

Schools should sell a variety of healthy but scrumptious food for students to consume. If the food is affordable, healthy and delicious the problem of drowsy and tired students could be solved.

Firstly there are many different varieties of delectable and fresh meals that could be sold to students. For example, salads or sandwiches can have different type of meats to keep the consumer happy with the balance and the taste. Milkshakes could be made with fruits and milk to keep it healthy but delicious.

Secondly, the school will be able to earn some profit and be supported slightly. However there are one or two problems that could be countered easily. One of them, is for buying the vegetables, if the school has a garden the vegetables could be grown fresh. Hiring someone could be expensive but, the school could request for volunteers who would help out in the kitchen. The equipment could be fundraised with a sausage sizzle.

Lastly, the school could have attractive pictures to attract consumers to purchase meals. This will terminate the worry of having no one buying them.
